Who's your favorite Kerry surrogate?
And, why?

Some people may be better in certain circumstances.

I saw NY Rep Weiner on Crossfire today and he was very strong and aggressive. He called Bush and Cheney "cowards."

OTOH, John Edwards might be easier for undecideds, Mid-Westerners and Southerners to relate to.

I haven't seen much of TN Rep Ford on TV but he may be stumping the country under the radar.

I'd prefer not to see pros like Tad Devine do many more appearances. I think we need surrogates who've connected with voters well enough to win an election somewhere.

4. Max Cleland

Why? Because Max is a TRUE hero, who sent Bush running for cover behind Rove's skirt.

6. General Wes Clark****
Edited on Sat Aug-28-04 01:47 AM by Frenchie4Clark
The one who would have bolstered Kerry in all of the "problem" areas as was mentioned by many long ago. The RNC is still scared shitless of him. They hate it when he's actually heard by the masses. But of course, the DNC made sure that won't happen much....cause they showed that they were scared shitless of him too.

Oh well...our loss.

8. Wesley Clark. He has a commanding presence and doesn't take any b.s. from
interviewers. They can't slide innuendo by him unchecked.

10. Edwards, Biden, Clark, Cleland, and we'd best start using Vilsack in Iowa
Edited on Sat Aug-28-04 12:58 AM by VolcanoJen
We need to keep Edwards and Vilsack on top of these Econ issues, especially after reading today's amazing USA Today coverage of the Census report.

Vilsack is key, and for all the talking-up of my own state of Ohio, I'm really starting to feel that Iowa might be the Golden Ticket.

11. General Wesley Clark
The man speaks with authority, clarity and brilliance.

He won't mince words, he isn't nuanced, and when he talks about FP, NS, our soldiers, Iraq and Bushco he commands total respect and wisdom and a wealth on information.

He was the ONE most suited for us at this moment in our history.

14. Dôh...

Wes Clark!

Knocks the stuffing out of all SBVT wannabes pimping for * !

In a post-9/11 world, Kerry needs all the help he can get to toughen his publicly perceived national security credentials; he has the 'domestic' issues nailed down already.

Easily.

Totally, freaking brilliant and never loses sight of the big picture.

Then he explains it like the best teacher you ever had.

And he isn't afraid of anyone or anything.

Aside from details they agree on Iraq, national security, defense. Sure on some domestic issues they differ a bit, but not so as you'd notice. Both are free traders, etc.

25. Wes Clark , and Kerrey sometimes
Wes is an all around fantastic surrogate for Kerry. Let Rove and his creeps start to trash another Vietnam vet and 4 star general. it is going to blowback so hard in their faces. Kerrey is also extremely good when speaking to people who are not necessarily Democrats, but who want to hear a real person telling the truth. I believe whatever either of them says. Wes has been a true soldier for the cause - our Democracy.

He has the authority of having been NATO Supreme Allied Commander and a couple of books on foreign policy backing him up. Nobody is a better surrogate on defense and military stuff. He's smart, articulate, and doesn't pull his punches. I like Max Cleland a lot, too.

Actually, Kerry has quite a lot of capable surrogates, and it's good to know they're out there -- even if most of the time the "liberal" media ignore them.
