Van Halen mad at McCain for using thier song! LOL!
John McCain ended the big rally introducing Sarah Palin as his running mate with the Van Halen song "Right Now," and the band is not pleased, reports TMZ:

After John McCain used a Van Halen song during his big speech earlier today, the band wants to make to make one thing clear -- they're not running with McCain.

Van Halen management tells us the band had no idea McCain was planning on using "Right Now" during his big entrance in Ohio telling us, "Permission was not sought or granted nor would it have been given."

Oops! But it's familiar territory.

Just two weeks ago, rocker Jackson Browne was similarly furious about McCain using one his songs.

2. I was wondering about that when I heard it.
I'm very glad that it wasn't officially provided.

3. This happens all the time. No respect for copyright, can't the
music industry get an injunction everywhere he is scheduled to appear?

4. If they had to use music from artists that supported their policies
what would they have to chose from? Lee Greenwood and Ted Nugent?

5. I don't think he could choose from Toby Keith,
he's voting for Obama. He recently said he's a democrat.
Not Garth Brooks either, he's friends with Al Gore and
played at the Live Earth concert in DC, singing
"We Shall Be Free" with Trisha Yearwood (which btw is
a great song).
He can play 'Dog Eat Dog', 'Free for All', and 'Stormtroopin'
by Nugent; their titles describe his plans for our country.

6. Keith is voting for Obama?

I find that very hard to believe. Any proof?

9. No proof, but some evidence ...

"And I think he's the best Democratic candidate we've had since Bill Clinton. And that's coming from a Democrat."

He didn't actually say he was going to vote for Obama.

McCain Offends Van Halen, Sucks at Music

http://blog.wired.com/music/2008/08/mccain-sucks-at.html

... The bad news? The tune is "Right Now," from Van Halen's Sammy Hagar era, arguably the band's worst. You decide.

Evidently, McCain's campaign blared the track during a speech in Ohio, at which point the band complained that he should've chosen Twisted Sister instead.

"Permission was not sought or granted nor would it have been given," a Van Halen representative told TMZ.

The weird news? McCain's recently announced running mate and governor of Alaska Sarah Palin, according to the Associated Press, has named one of her five children Trig Paxson Van Palin, in honor of the band. ...

http://newsminer.com/news/2008/apr/18/palin-welcomes-fifth-trig
"Palin earlier joked about naming the baby Van Palin after the ’80s rock group Van Halen."

Personally, I have mixed feelings about the song, it's certainly not Val Halen's
best, but it has its good aspects.

Someone noticed McCain figiting with his wedding ring during Palin's speech,
maybe he was thinking "Why Can't This Be Love".

10. Does this mean McCain would disband ASCAP?
and bring back the old Napster?
