NPR says someone called "youngtrig" (her infant's name) started editing Palin's Wikipedia entry 24 hours BEFORE McCain's announcement. Played down her beauty pageant activity; played down the scandal about her trying to get ex-bro-in-law fired from Alaska St. Police ... The Wiki editor (who is actually, apparently, a Palin supporter), put a stop to the editing because it's not "neutral." The NPR audio will be available in about an hour, if you missed it.

All Things Considered, August 29, 2008 · If you happened to check Sarah Palin's Wikipedia entry thursday, you might have had a good tip about today's announcement. Someone — and apparently it was just one person — felt like the existing biography wasn't appropriate for a vice-presidential candidate.

1. Made it sound like Wooten had it coming

I actually looked at it a couple of days ago. I think reference to her husband working for BP was removed. And the troopergate entry was changed to add some nonsense about her brother-in-law threatening her family and that's basically why she had him fired.

It will be interesting to see if this gets any play.

2. Nice story about the Wikipedia editing on NPR this afternoon.

One of the head Wiki guys said that politico's bios are often buffed but the timing of this is suspicious, plus the user who did it has never touched any other Wikipedia entries. I smell Rove.
