John McCain is slowly transitioning to the presidency when he suffers a massive heart attack and drops dead in his office.

Unfortunate, yes. Horrible, yes. Saddening, yes.

But imagine if Sarah Palin ascended to the presidency this way.

Think about it.

Three years prior, Palin was the mayor of a town of only 5,000 people.

From Podunk to White House in less than one election cycle.

If that doesn't scare the shit out of anyone, then they ain't paying attention.
