7. The bear is typical Alaska decor - often hung on the wall.
A friend in Alaska dated a woman who asked him into her living room, where a full bearskin with head was hung in place of pride on the living room wall. "That's my first bear," she said. I was late getting it - thirteen. My brother shot his first bear when he was 11."

Alaska IS the last frontier!

15. That doesn't make it any less vile
Bears are one of my great passions and this picture is utterly disgusting, common or not. I've met plenty of people in Alaska who view the bear as sacred. Not everyone has one on their wall.

27. I agree that bears are magnificent animals and it is a privilege to see one in the wild.
I've seen bears running full out up a mountainside in Colorado, and fishing for salmon in Alaska. It compares to watching sharks - not in some stupid, staged "shark feeding" frenzy - but watching three silky sharks swim in perfect coordination with each other - and the time a white spotted eagle ray (at least 8 feet wingspan - so big he had three remora fish) swam right up to inspect me and three other divers - we were spaced out about 20 from each other in a line, and he came up to each of us one at a time. When you've seen animals in the fullness of their natural magnificence, why would you want to look at them dead? And killing bears with a high-powered rifle? How brave is that? Not.

20. Always hung on the wall or placed on the floor
I have never seen a bear head on a couch, not ever. That is disgusting.

12. I love Creationists like this

She believes in Creation...GOD created all the creatures of the fields...JUST SO she could slaughter them? If he wanted a bear to be used as a rug, wouldn't he have just made rugs?
