Mitt Romney and Tim Pawlenty are not happy
DENVER -- Though it was high in shock value, the Palin pick left bruised feelings among the short-list contenders who were not picked -- and infuriated some Republican officials who privately said McCain had gone out on a limb, unnecessarily, without laying the groundwork for such an unknown.

Two senior Republican officials close to Mitt Romney and Tim
Pawlenty said they had both been rudely strung along and now "feel manipulated."

"They now know that they were used as decoys, well after McCain had decided not to pick them," one Republican involved in the process said.

3. know nothing about Pawlenty, other than he
has a weirder name than I.
But Willard, for all his perfect hair and perfect smile, and secret underwear, can be one vindictive SOB.

5. this is a very good point, at least Obama's runner ups know they lost out to a very
qualified individual. Any of McSlime's potential VPs have to be looking at Palin and her total lack of qualifications and are saying :wtf:

9. oh nomad! that was perfect
you nailed it.

she is a female dan quayle, this is GREAT news for us - a further fractured GOP!!!

Seriously, this pick is a really bad one - horrible experience and it negates their argument about Obama being ready to lead - 100%! Which is fantastic...

18. I don't know
Some talking head said she had more 'executive' experience than Obama does as a Senator.

At this point - I wish the DNC could find a way to steal a few states and let it be done already. I know - evil. Not nice. Undemocratic. But I'm serious. I do not want THAT woman in office.

14. Plus Hutchison is pissed, which means all her Republican friends in the Senate are pissed, too
I'm sure there is a lot of dissension about this in the GOP behind the scenes.

15. It doesn't help that they weren't very fond of the man to begin with.
To insult them with this... It will be interesting to see how straight a face they can keep when supporting this man still (If they still do).

19. As if Pawlenty was ever a viable choice.
That bridge collapse is a prime example of Republican inefficiency and Pawlenty wears that millstone around his neck. Mittens was out of the loop for being younger, attractive, the breadwinner of his household and tall. We all know that McCain can't share the spotlight in any situation and with an inexperienced pick like Palin, he shines like a new penny.

22. Now they know what it's like to be passed over for someone less qualified, of the opposite gender
Maybe they'll have more concern for the far more common discrimination on the job others experience.

Funny how enraged some Republicans get when they are treated unfairly but don't get it when others are.
