Oil. We have two oil men in the White House right now. Palin and her husband are also "oil people". My Republican friends go crazy when they complain about stuff and I say "What do you expect with oilmen in the White House?" I will now be able to say the same thing about the McCain/Palin ticket. (I wasn't able to say it before McCain picked Palin.) So I look at this as a positive.

Big Oil once again has found a way.

1. And on animal rights. Apparently, Palin doesn't think they have
any at all. Who in the Hell is not for animal rights?

2. I don't see a problem.
It's McCain that will be president, and anyone who votes for that ticket will be putting "him" in charge, not Palin. We still need to keep McCain and all his problems front and center. I think her problems with firing the guy who wouldn't fire her former brother in law is going to come back big time to haunt her and McCain. Of course that could be the plan. Keep her around so the Obama camp can't attack without McCains guys using the "sexist" label, and then when things look good for them, have her step down "because" of the investigation she is involved in and bring in someone that Rove has already picked to take her place. Could be wrong, but I just don't trust the republicans at all.

Bottom line is I really think Obama and Biden can win this, no matter who McCains has as a VP, and no matter what kind of a plan Rove may have.

(snip)

Palin first met McCain in March when she was in Washington and requested a meeting with the senator about oil drilling in Alaska, said her press secretary, Bill McAllister. He said Palin later talked to McCain for five minutes by phone last Sunday while she was at the Alaska state fair.

5. What about as a creationist and global warming skeptic?
Her thin resume establishes her anti-science credentials, which means she is great as a third term of Bush.
