Palin Pick Leaves Bruised Feelings

By Anne E. Kornblut

DENVER -- Though it was high in shock value, the Palin pick left bruised feelings among the short-list contenders who were not picked -- and infuriated some Republican officials who privately said McCain had gone out on a limb, unnecessarily, without laying the groundwork for such an unknown. Two senior Republican officials close to Mitt Romney and Tim Pawlenty said they had both been rudely strung along and now "feel manipulated."

3. I was thinking that Mitt especially might feel insulted
If the vp had been Pawlenty, Mitt could have told himself that McCain needed Minnesota.

But this choice...

I think Minnesota is safely Dem now.

I wonder how welcoming Minneapolis will be.

25. Precisely my take. He is an old fool, and his choice of Palin proves it.
She is a likable person, but not presidential. Hillary was very presidential. Palin does not have a clue.

8. Mittens paid Millions of His Own Personal $$ to be on the ticket ... now this!
Boy there are going to be some high Repub officials looking for hellacious payback after this.

McCain will be lucky to be offered the janitorial position at the next Repub Convention.

13. I almost feel sorry for them...
They've spent the last several months with their lips firmly attached to McCain's butt but have now been left at the altar for another woman.

They can't allow an honest person to be attorney general. Too many crimes to hide.

24. meh... they know that in order for the GOP to survive
that Bushco needs to go away. Romney, Pawlenty, even Jindal aren't tied to the Bushco. So, they are just going to wait for the party to die, so they can ressurect it in 2012.

26. Can you imagine if Obama converted Mittens into a surrogate? :)
A lot of republibots (non-fundies) absolutely love the man.

Granted, he has slammed Obama mercilously in the past, so the likelihood of this happening is approximately 0.01%.

A boy can dream, though, right? :)
