McCain Flip-Flops on "Experience" - Obama's vs Palin's Resume

The Ancient Mariner, John McCain, has apparently decided that experience is NOT a prerequisite for the White House.

After spending months blasting Barack Obama as an inexperienced celebrity who lacks the qualifications to lead the free world, McCain today selected as his running mate first-term Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska.

For someone who spent a lot of time banging the drum about Obama's resume, McCain has made what appears to be a baffling choice, as the 44-year-old Palin is less qualified and less experienced than Obama by nearly every measure.

Obama: First black president of the Harvard Law Review
Palin: First runner-up Miss Alaska beauty pageant in 1984

Obama: Graduate of Columbia U, and Harvard Law School;
Palin: Journalism Degree from the prestigious University of Idaho

Obama: Community organizer & Civil Rights attorney in Chicago, Constitutional Law professor U of Chicago
Palin: Sports reporter at an Anchorage TV station

Obama: Illinois State Senator (1997-2004)
Palin: Member of Wasilla, AK City Council (1992-1996), Mayor of Wasilla (pop. 8,471) 1996-2002

Obama: United States Senator (2004-present)
Palin: Governor of 3rd least-populated State in Union (2006-present)


McCain has pretty much taken the experience argument off the table for good.
