Let Me Get This Najif Story Correct
American and puppet Iraqi forces pull out of Najif after weeks of fighting that claims scores of American and hundreds of Iraqi lives.

Two factions, neither of which are connected to either the U.S. occupation forces or the puppet Iraqi government broker a deal with each other that prohibits U.S. forces from entering Najif and grants amnesty to al Sadr and all his fighters. This amnesty includes any of those who killed Americans.

Tell me again what the f**k we are still doing there?

2. You have summed it up correctly
A whole lot of people died for nothing. Sadr comes out smelling like a rose.

4. And Allawi is sitting in Baghdad wondering what the hell is going to
happen next because it's obvious that he has nothing to say about anything. And he's probably fuming that he's been shown to hold no power whatsoever.

3. i wish i had a link for this
but i think the europeans believe sistani has been talking to the americans.
and his departure to england at the particular time he went was part of the scenario acted out to put pressure{physical in this case} on sadr.
mind you NOT that sistani is a western puppet -- it's just that he is probably the single most powerful political figure in iraq at this time.

5. Then why don't we
give Iraq to him now, since his taking it is just a matter of time anyhow, and get the f**k out?

7. This is an outrage.
I remember when Kerry spoke out forcefully about the military fiasco in Tora Bora that allwed OBL and his top people escape. It did not get much coverage and dumbya and his whores never said a peep, I assume because they knew he was right.

I'm hoping that Kerry will now speak as forcefully about this Najaf fiasco as he did then.

8. Sistani was proving to Allawi that he, not Allawi, has the power
Sistani wants election held in January and he also wants the US and foreign troops out, but he's not as hot about that as Sadr is. I think Sistani's tactic was to tell Allawi and the Americans, that he can call for a massive rebellion against them, if they don't do what he wants.
