Well, I suppose they could, but you can't just reschedule something like a convention for the following week. Most places big enough to hold a convention are booked months in advance. Unless they have already made backup plans, I don't see how they can do it. Delegates need to get off work. Thousands of rooms need to be booked. To move this back would be a gigantic mess.
