My one big disappointment with this convention.
I've heard two good songs totally butchered by whoever the cover band was that decided to play them.

You just don't play a cover of "Don't Stop Thinking About Tommorow" when Bill comes onstage. And having anyone else but Annie and Aretha singing "Sisters Are Doing It For Themselves" is a true travesty.

I guess I'm just too conservative....

1. The band and the music truly sucked ass
I winced every time that "band" started playing. It was truly awful. If only the music had been better, this convention would have been absolutely perfect.

2. Thank God, I thought I was alone here in my distaste.
Well, I wasn't entirely alone in it...

I was watching the Senate women on Tuesday, our Senator Blanche Lincoln had spoken. My man came out at that time when all of them were onstage after their remarks, and commented on the truly bad cover of Sisters Are Doing It For Themselves.

Great song choices, I can't fault them at all there. It just really, really hurt to listen to them because of the delivery.

On the other hand, the kids choir on Tuesday that did the National Anthem did pretty well. I was driving in my car and heard XM say the National Anthem would be sung by a children's choir and prepared to have to turn it off, but I was pleasantly surprised.

3. The music at Invesco was way better...
you had big guns like Sheryl Crow and Stevie Wonder perform, and when they played other music, it was original recordings that everyone knows and loves.
