First of all, he's a musician, which by itself gives him a 95% chance of being liberal.

Then consider The Doobie Brothers. The Doobie Brothers for cryin' out loud.

And a lot of work with Steely Dan, and though I've never heard Fagen or Becker say much explicitly political, their fascination with freaks, outcasts and other oddballs sure doesn't imply conservatism to me.
