Fucking Nader
Everytime I see Gore I think about all the people I know...liberal minded people, that voted for Nader back in 2000.

Every one of them has been kicking themselves for it ever since.

1. There are still plenty of 3rd party voters this time around.
I can't stand Ralph Nader. He has his strengths, but being president and being a political pundit are not among them.

3. You're wrong about one thing.
Some of the Nader supporters, even some DUers, still think they were justified.

14. And Nader was exactly right about that
Edited on Thu Aug-28-08 08:08 PM by depakid
The Dems rolled over and confirmed two of the most extreme justices ever sent up. Along with just about every other extreme nominee and egregious piece of legislation.

Nader, public citizen and others also warned what would happen if Democrats went along with financial and energy deregulation. Not to mention going along with insane Republican fiscal and trade policies.

How'd all those work out for everyone?

15. And how did the Nader candidacy make it better?
He accomplished exactly the same thing that the Democrats achieved. Republican rule. He is exactly as culpable as they are. No more, no less.

16. Democrats need to stop blaming Nader for their own repeated FAILURES
If Democrats hadn't pandered to the corporatocracy and enabled, legitimized and VOTED FOR far right policies, abandoning tradional Democratic values- Nader would never have had a constituency in the first place.

19. Read slower
No more no less. Nader had done no more or less good than the Democratic party in the past 8 years. Does that let the democrats off the hook for their actions? only if you are foolish enough to think that Nader is a saint and the comparison is a positive for him.

Nope. Not it. Both have sucked and failed. Nader had the oportunity to make a difference. So did the Dems. Neither has succeeded in any of that since 2000. Arguably both have actively moved their causes in reverse over that time.

17. Put the blame where it belongs.
Not on people exercising their right to vote.

On corrupt politicians and election fraud.

Gore was great tonight, at least the part I got to hear.
