Morning Coffee in Denver
Wow! I slept like a STONE, I was so tired.

But I gotta hand it to the Comfort Inn Central, the "comfort" part of the name is not an exaggeration. Including a shower that would be a felony in Santa Fe. And both McNews AND the local rag delivered to our door..

Himself went down to the breakfast lounge and fetched up coffee.

Here's a snippet from the local rag, which Himself has already dubbed "The Glorious Fascist Union Daily:"

"America is a beacon of hope in a world full of homicidal maniacs who want to use WMD to kill us. Are you ready to bet your life on Barack Obama? I hope not."

This gem courtesy of a guest columnist who is apparently also a deejay on some morning "point/counterpoint" radio show a la Hannity & Colmes. I decline the wonderful opportunity of turning the radio on to hear more of his brilliant analysis.

Speaking of homicidal maniacs and WMDs, McCain is all over the paper-- they're preparing for coverage of next week's RNC in St. Paul with way more enthusiasm than they seem to be able to muster for the happy crowds, hopeful for a better future, among them at the moment. We're not violent, contentious, or rhetorically extreme enough for them, I guess.

I'm having trouble with this fancy Wi-Fi card I bought Monday. Here in the hotel I can use a "bridge" they gave me to receive the local network, but my first priority in the Big Tent is going to be to find a friendly geek and see if I can't work out this problem. Hopefully it won't be too long until I'm able to update y'all again.

determinedly,
Bright

1. How ironic and not intelligent
Why would a local paper try to downplay such an obvious economic bump for their host city? The republicans didn't choose Denver. How smart is that business-wise for this newspaper?

2. Would that be the Rocky Mountain News?
Back in my growing-up-in-Denver days, it was known as the Rocky Mountain Scandal Sheet.

Just wondering. Some things never change!

Keep sending your great reports. Have one for me at the Racine's get-together tonight!

3. The Denver Post has an entire section devoted . . .
. . . to the Convention.

The RMN is the RW rag.
