MSM played the disunity card to our advantage
The MSM has really been playing up the divisiveness regarding Hillary/Obama lately and i contend that the result was to our advantage. Averages Joes tuned in to what they had been played to expect which is a teeth gnashing by hillary to the tune of 29% ratings increase. Even people at work that aren't dems are saying they watched.

Despite the fact that her speech did not really resonate with me, it was a positive message in which wshe threw her support to Obama and thrashed McCain and his bush legacy.

The end result is that our democratic message went out to a huge audience and hillary quelled any plausible suspicion of division.

in short, we pulled a reverse Jerry Springer, they came for a show with flying chairs and fists and instead came away with an education.

Good job Hillary!

2. I agree. Conventions can be boring and they tried whipping up some excitement.
It was sort of negative excitement... but my Republican friends were talking it up about the Hillary revolt. Lots of people are following it.

I told them they got their own revolt with the Ron Paul dual convention.

3. I think we will get the same advantage out of the obsession with Bill Clinton's speech
Edited on Wed Aug-27-08 10:25 AM by emulatorloo
There is going to be much media obsession about disunity and will Clinton go off message.

I expect he is going to make an incredible rabble rousing speech that is counter-Bush/McCain and pro-Obama. I thought Hillary's speech was AMAZING on many levels. I'm very excited to see tonight's speeches.

9. I think it's just another instance of this campaign doing stuff right--
magnificently so. I see this particularly in Obama, who has managed to turn so many lemons into lemonade that it's clear to even a tone-deaf old campaigner like me that he has political perfect pitch. He hits exactly the right note every time.

12. And to the m$m's disadvantage. We aren't just unified in support of all things "Big D,"
we are united in contempt for the m$m.

Nice work, gang. k/r
