Rachel Maddow Calls McCain Out on Playing POW Card
Rachel Maddow Calls McCain Out on Playing POW Card
By The Seminal

Not surprisingly, Rachel Maddow found precisely the right words to expose what McCain has done by using his military experience as a trump card to excuse every gaffe he makes (he did this most recently on Jay Leno’s show last night). Maddow said that there was only one way McCain’s military record could be diminished–if McCain, himself, cheapened it by using it to score political points, which is exactly what he and his surrogates have been doing, or trying their best to do.

Maddow was speaking a few minutes ago live at the convention–the crowd exploded when she made this point (she said it better than I did here). David Gregory did his best to change the subject, arguing that McCain could respond to charges that he is out of touch by talking about his father-in-law’s Horatio Alger story. Maddow’s pithy response: “what would he say–I married into it?”

I am thankful for Rachel Maddow.

3. Ridiculous suggestion by Gregory, that McC*nt is somehow able
to claim credit for his father-in-law's empire--by fucking his daughter while still married to Carol McCain, and then finally marrying the trollop.

6. Really brings his true aims to the fore, doesn't it?
They don't even bother trying to be subtle about it anymore... why should they? Most don't notice.

4. Hah... poor Gregory... I'll always see him as he was then, dancing merrilly along with Rove..
Rachel makes it hard for these reckless fools to maintain that veneer of credibility. I love it.

Can't wait to see her show. :)

It was actually michael smerconish who suggested that McCain used the father in law story, which prompted Rachel's great rebuttal (that drew a HUGE cheer from the crowd!) But of course before that, David Gregory had said something else to try and hush Rachel, like "BUT BUT, shouldn't reminding people of those experiences be legitimate for him to say that he is GROUNDED?" or some bullshit.

17. She should stop complaining about McCain playing POW Card
What Maddow says is true.... however, there's a cardinal rule in war: Fight on the battlefield of YOUR choosing. Play to your strengths and to your opponent's' weaknesses.

We dems should ONLY be talking about the economy, jobs, and health care. The Clintons' had it right: "It's the economy, stupid!" Leave the foreign policy stuff to Biden (where his experience and expertise will trump whatever vp pick McCain picks).

STAY ON MESSAGE.

18. she really does not complain about it until
David Gregory or someone else brings it up. Rachel is not a surrogate, she just got her own show for a reason.
