Edited on Tue Aug-26-08 11:50 PM by Bicoastal
...but I expect that after tonight, most of them will NOT vote for John McCain. That in itself is all we need for Obama to win, since those folks are largely independents and former Republicans--and we have plenty of other independents and former Republicans who will be voting for a Democrat for the first time.

Thanks, Hillary! :)

2. The most important thing is that they don't get added on to the other side.

9. No, but I bet there were a few Hillary people that believed PUMA was legit
and joined up.

11. I don't think there are enough Hillary supporters....
with IQ's low enough to cause Obama to lose 50 states.

You do know the numbers the PUMAs threw around were lies, right?

Repuke charade.

3. you are wrong,
for starters the PUMA movement was and is a lot of noise and little substance.

Secondly, MOST will vote for Obama...

And that was the case from the git go

Those who KNOW a little how this works, understood this... and knew that this was more bluster than anything else

8. History... every election you have a core of disaffected voters
on both parties that either sit it out or cross lines

They are noisy but usually small

The only time in recent memory where it was different was when we had a third party help Bill Clinton in '92

Before you mention 2000 and Florida, that was the USSC and a coup

5. If they have any respect for Hillary Clinton whatsoever...
they will vote for Barack Obama.

If they do not appreciate her opinion enough to vote for Obama, I doubt that they were Hillary Clinton supporters in the first place.

7. Exactly
If we were/are able to turn those votes away from McCain, whether it be to some other candidate or to us, the job is done. PUMAs were never going to vote for Obama I don't believe, but tonight's speech by Mrs. Clinton solidified what we had all been thinking: it's time to stop dwelling in the past and to start working for a future we all can believe in - one with universal health care, equal pay, no war in Iraq, a balanced budget, lower taxes, and a renewed global position.

10. Well now you see, I never assigned 'PUMA' to any one camp but both...
How odd you would see it that way  You're either for party unity or you are not...which ever side you are on that much has been crystal clear to me from the beginning. You're still casting onus onto one group, when there's plenty of onus to go around.

12. We only lost the faux Hillary supporters -- no loss at all
The real Hillary supporters have always been one with the party.
