Get Moving: make Hillary SOS
As a former (late on) Hillary supporter, i say forget VP, forget HHS. Let's start a move to get this woman the wise, aggressive international stage she needs: Secretary of State. This is almost like giving Obama all the foreign diplomacy cred he would have from Hillary as VP, only on high octane. She has the relationships, the toughness, the finesse. She would make a great SOS in an Obama cabinet.

13. I think HHS is the "fall guy postion" for her
Humbly, i think she has more foreign policy experience (she was always paying attention and travelling in those WH years .... certainly way more experience than McCain or Obama.)
My fear with Health Care: the Repugs will have her just set up to "fail" again (not that she failed the first time, just that the knives and the hackles would be up for her).
The people of this country have been conditioned to associate Hillary (unfairly) with Socialized Medicine... I think setting her up in that fall zone again aint a great idear.

22. I'd like HHS if Hillary could just push against the Repugnants to pass Medicare for All.
Yes they could try to set her up to fail, but now she's got us behind her. We'd sound off together now and give her all the support we could. In an Obama administration, she'd be more likely to succeed. Socialized medicine is a good way to help our economy by taking the burden of healthcare expenses away from businesses. It would also be such a boon to the public that Democrats would be beloved for it.

But enough election tampering could take place in order to keep too many Republican seats in congress and screw things up for the Democrats. I hope the Republicans don't do that but instead just let the public vote and bring in a new group to conduct emergency measures to fix the mega-blunders of the Bush-Cheney years.

3. I would much rather see her
head a universal health-care program that would be created with Obama. I think that she is so passionate about it that she would be best suited establishing a program to set the course for universal health care for all Americans.

She knows that issue inside and out, and as you said, it's a real passion for her.

18. As long as it's not her Insurance Care program, fine.
Edited on Tue Aug-26-08 11:29 PM by Zhade
Health care decisions should NOT be put in the hands of insurance companies that routinely deny care for a fatter bottom line!

10. Majority Leader -- get some *real* work done . . .
Edited on Tue Aug-26-08 11:24 PM by MrModerate
And even under the best of scenarios, the Senate is going to need someone with brains and determination to corral weak-kneed Blue Dog dems. Harry Reid ain't that person, but Hillary could well be.

her area of expertise. I think she will do well in the Senate.
