Post speech assessments - PBS - Shields, fulfilled everything. read on -
Brooks (fainted here) - thought it was perfect - esp. the question to the crowd about are they in it for her, or for the various people she referred to who are being hurt by Bush. Shields - she was a character witness for Obama and gave him as good a send off as possible.

Other panelists - fellow from Brandeis - remarkable speech (some critics will say she should have talked about Obama more, but given that she got 18 mil votes, her tone was justified).

Richard Norton Smith - she could have saved the McCain campaign some ad dollars, since they can't run their ads any more - Eleanor Roosevelt would be proud. He differed with Beshcloss criticism - said that Hillary was implicit in her support in that she didn't need to spend words taking back some of the things she said.

Beschloss - best speech she ever gave. But - a criticism - this is a very close election and Obama needs all the help he can get. She said Obama will do all these wonderful things but they were generic - a better help would have been if she took back some of the questions she raised about him.

Gwen Ifill - on the floor - signs that turned Hillary to Unity to Obama - twirled around on the floor. Assessment - she brought a full throttled support of Obama. Hall was filled to capacity. People looked up awaiting Hillary's OK to release them, so that they can support Obama. Lots of healing happened tonight. If the goal tonight was to unite the Dems tonight, Hillary's speech did it and it had that effect amongst the attendees.
