Boy, they are really shutting Mathews out! Boring!
I like Keith because of what he says and his intellect - but personally, I have never thought
his style was good for big event coverage - it's just too damn serious and boring

And marbles in his mouth Brokaw - ugh

Call me crazy - but I think Mathews is the best at stuff like this. He's just so enthusiastic
and excited and knows historical connections. And they've got him under Keith's control.

I know 99% of DU hates him - call me the 1% who despite all his past problems thinks he's great.

And I just hate the way NBC is pushing him out.

1. C-Span is actually broacasting the Convention.
What are you watching? Pundit heads' opinions? Why would you do that while the convention is actually going on? Makes no sense to me.

8. Same here--sometimes he pisses me off, but he's always fun to watch.
Especially when he gets all wound up. I'm SO looking forward to watching him and Keith all week at the convention!

11. He just seems different because Keith is definitely been put in
charge. It's like they've stiffled him and warned him not to act up.

What they don't know is that many people love that.

9. I know! For that last year though - he has been pretty pro-Obama
I know he likes him - because he made a slip one time when they were saying Obama's poll numbers
might be overstated. He said, "Yes, that's what I've been worried about."

He also, in the last year has trashed Cheney and kept up the line that they lied us into war.

Sure, he's not perfect - but we need more like him

Some days, when he has a bee in his bonnet, or he's tickled, I like to watch him.

14. KO too "serious" and "boring"?
The guy who makes his own tech crew laugh out loud on his news show?

It takes all kinds, I guess.

16. During the big events, I honestly miss Russert
His enthusiasm, his vigor. He loved this shit, just like we all do. When he was in the moment, he was peerless.

18. CM has admirable enthusiasm for politics in general
and finally seems to have remembered that it was JFK who inspired his political interest in the first place. He's ALWAYS better with Keith. That Rachel has been given her own show seems to have kindled CM's Democratic roots.

19. I think Chris is a hoot
I like the way he says dumb but enthusiastic things and then calls out Pat Buchanan to remind him about the separation of church and state.

Kind of like a goofy German Shepherd who knows how to have fun but can switch to watchdog mode when he needs to.
