If there's now precedent that you can hold your state's primary whenever you feel like it with no penalty, why wouldn't they do it again? Edited for typo.

4. They still were punished in many ways.
Their states were irrelevant and the candidates largely didn't campaign there. If the convention was in question, they wouldn't get full votes.
