Clinton preaches unity

Posted: 01:20 PM ET

DENVER (AP) — Hillary Clinton preached unity Monday in her first appearance at the Democratic National Convention, insisting she is doing everything possible to prove her full support for Barack Obama.

Her first stop in Denver was a breakfast meeting for New York Democrats, where supporters waved signs declaring "Hillary Made History."

The New York senator was quick to put Republican John McCain in her sights, saying the de facto GOP nominee was running ads using her words to try to divide the Democrats. Clinton's response: "I'm Hillary Clinton, and I do not approve that message."

Clinton tried to acknowledge the hard feelings of the primary season while encouraging everyone to move past them.

"We were not all on the same side as Democrats, but we are now," she said. "We are united and we are together and we are determined."

3. Nobody's asking her to do that.
However, if she set Wolfson, Rendell, Carville, Begala, and the KittyCult on fire, that would be OK.

9. How about near the reflecting pool at the Washington Monument.
That would be pretty spectacular, huh?

2. That's marvelous. She is doing what she can and those idiots
who aren't listening to her can just go to hell as far as I'm concerned.

They're making themselves look ridiculous and they're feeding into the MSM drama. And MSM will do anything to try to make the Clintons look bad.

Hillary is doing great. Can't wait to hear her speech on Tuesday and record it for posterity.

4. I am watching that press conference right now on CSPAN
And she is working really hard to push unity. She is repeatedly bringing up that anyone who voted for her has way more in common with Obama than they do with McCain and that she wants them to unite behind Obama.

5. "I am Hillary Clinton and I do not approve that message"
Wouldn't that be a great soundbite for the Obama campaign to use in ads attacking McCain's use of her as some sort of cheap, political prostitute? I'd love to see the two come to some sort of agreement about the use of such a line and get her to record it for that purpose.
