Biden is not DLC.
Edited on Mon Aug-25-08 01:44 PM by woodsprite
For those who have said he is. I have found no membership list with his name on it and have found several articles stating that an Obama/Biden ticket is great because it is definitely NOT DLC. Perhaps those people are mixing Biden up with our other Dem Senator (Carper), who helped to create the DLC in the first place.

Here is just one link:

3. Most DLC members voted against the Repub bankruptcy bill of 2005 so it is not as if the DLC is anti-
middle class on every issue.

5. Biden not interested in Clinton's VP, citing 'dominant' Bill
DES MOINES, Iowa (CNN) -- Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Joe Biden on Sunday ruled out the vice presidential slot altogether if Sen. Hillary Clinton is his party's nominee, saying her husband would overshadow the position.

"If I don't win the nomination, the likely nominee is going to be Hillary," Biden, D-Delaware, told CNN, "and I love Bill Clinton, but can you imagine being vice president?"

The former president "is such a dominant and powerful and positive force that I think the question is if you're going to stay in public life do you want to be a contributor ... I'm not looking for a ceremonial post," he said.

Biden said he would like to remain chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee if he does not win the Democratic nomination, saying that position would allow him to make "a much greater contributor to the security of the country."

Biden expressed confidence that he would be one of the top three finishers in the Iowa caucus in January. Biden said he believes the strong finish in Iowa will propel him to his party's nomination.

"I believe I'm going to do very well here," the Delaware senator told Senior Political Correspondent Candy Crowley during an interview on the CNN Election Express. "If I end up one, two or three, then I believe I'm the nominee because all of a sudden the national press will have to cover me."

the HUGE bank failures looming it's mind boggling that so many Washington politicians pushed to put Biden on the ticket. Especially with his vote to repeal Glass-Seagall.

When the finger pointing starts, you'd think the last thing the Democratic Party would want front and center is someone the Republicans can turn into a poster boy for the debacle.

Hey, but what do I know. I'm not one of those genius Washington consultants.

I wouldn't even be surprised to find out that some of the Republicans opted out of even running for election so they won't be there when the finger pointing starts.

pointing the finger is going to do SERIOUS damage to the other party. I find it hard to believe that with a looming financial crisis (which will make the S&L debacle look like a walk in the park) that this wasn't factored into the decision making process (and if it was I can only say, what the heck where they thinking).

Of course, I'm not one of those genius political consultants so maybe I just all wrong about this. For the sake of they party, I hope so.

16. I also hope there is more than meets the eye. From my perspective, I keep asking
what does he bring that a dozen others couldn't have also provided, but without the baggage and with the benefit of swing-state connections. I'm dumbfounded.

10. your sig image
I checked out the link in your sig. Nice work! You should make the image a link so people can click right on it. I bet you'd get more hits that way. :) The title says "furniture." will you be adding other items later, or are you going to stick with the food bowls?

17. Thanks
Edited on Mon Aug-25-08 05:31 PM by mrone2
for the kind comments. We are just starting out and will be adding new items shortly, including pet furniture such as beds (some of which will be keyed to the feeders). Right now we only have the cat feeders up, and will be adding dog feeders probably by this weekend. The items actually take quite a lot of man-hours to produce, but we've opted for the quality over quantity approach.

I have no idea how to embed a "link" in the sig image, but you're right that it would be more convenient if I were able to do so. To be honest, we hesitated to even put our logo and web address here as it seemed to border on shameless self promotion, but hey...things are tough and it's a cheap way to at least get some advertising out there. (Thank you Lisa0825, the link works!)

Thanks again for your comments, they are much appreciated! :hi:
