The former Democratic presidential contender said "we are gathered here in Denver for a very clear and simple purpose. That is to come out of this convention energized and excited and ready to elect Senator Obama the next president of the United States."

"I ask each and everyone of you to work as hard for Barack and Joe Biden as you worked for me," said Clinton. "The Democratic party is a family and this is like a big family reunion."

"We are united, we are together and we are determined," said Clinton. "I don't want to live through another Republican administration. How many times can you yell at your TV screen?"
