Report on the Dave Matthews concert for delegates last night at Red Rocks:

My son got there a bit late. When he got there a band called Sugarland was playing. They're kind of country but good. And of course, they're democrats.

The speakers included:
Tim Kaine
Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.
William McDunough (sp) who is an author. Don't know much about him.
Colorado Governor Bill Ritter

Then Dave Matthews played along with an amazing guitarist, Tim Reynolds.

My son said it was absolutely fantastic. Mostly acoustic, of course. And he said that Tim Reynolds is amazing on the guitar.

1. I was curious if Dave Matthews said anything about the band member who recently died?

BTW, Red Rocks is an amazing venue!

4. Leroi Moore

I think Leroi was a HUGE Obama supporter. After the SC primary I think he was standing on the right side of the stage then again in Indiana I think.

5. Went to the concert on 8/22

and he didn't mention it. DMB did play in LA on the day after he died, and he died in LA, so imagine he mentioned it there.

7. Steve said that Matthews said he had had a really, really bad

week. I don't know if that was a reference to the death or not. When did he die?

12. It was August 19th -- of complications from a June accident.

Very sad. He was 46.

Look for her solo stuff too. Jennifer Nettles. Her solo stuff is edgy but interesting. Be prepared for a serious southern accent. There is a lot of good stuff at youtube.
