I about puke when I see one of McCain's ads that try to make him out to be one of the little people
instead of one of the richest members of the Senate who actually believes that you cannot find Americans willing to pick lettuce for $50 an hour.

Here is a comparison of the net worth of Obama and McCain in 2006:

Obama: http://www.opensecrets.org/pfds/CIDsummary.php?CID=N00009638&year=2006
Net Worth: From $456,012 to $1,142,000
Ranks 67th among all members
of the Senate

McCain: http://www.opensecrets.org/pfds/CIDsummary.php?CID=N00006424&year=2006
Net Worth: From $27,817,187 to $45,045,011
Ranks 8th among all members
of the Senate

I think McCain has difficulty in figuring out which way is up much less the cost of things that regular Americans buy everyday.

1. Yep, says it all.
Plus, what I can't stand in those ads is the ending, "I approve" crap where you see the non-cancerous side of his face in profile, with him looking up, all smug. Every time I see that I feel like throwing something at my TV. :argh:

2. If John McCain didn't have a father and a grandfather who were admirals,
he wouldn't have made it to the flight where he crashed his bomber ... he'd have been grounded long before, had he even made it into flight school ...

3. And here is Biden's from 2006.
Net Worth: From $-302,980 to $277,997 (note -)
Ranks 108th among all members
of the Senate

Income
Organization Location Source Income Type Value
Delaware Technical & Community College Wilmington, DE Spouse Teaching Salary $Over $1,000
US Senate Washington, DC Salary $165,200
Widener University Chester, PA Teaching Stipend $20,500

They may be wealthy by the standards of many in the middle class, but certainly not in league with the truly wealthy. Check out the details of his assets. I don't see any big bank/corporations/stocks included in his assets. It looks like a portfolio of the average investor in a retirement fund. His financial status was one of the things that attracted me to him and his campaign prior to Iowa.

4. I'm not sure how Biden ranks 108 in the Senate, but it is a long way from #8.
Although here in Wisconsin Senator Kohl ranks #2 in the Senate, Feingold comes in at #93.

5. In all his 72 years, has McSame ever held a REAL job?
He went straight into Annapolis, where he knew he didn't have to study because his dad and grandad were admirals.

And then of course when he got oout of the Navy, his new father-in-law bought him into the Congress and then the Senate.

But was there ever a time when he actually had to fill out a job application or submit a resume? Haggle over a starting salary? Wonder how he'd get health insurance since the job didn't offer any?

Jeez, talk about out of touch!

6. McCain is an aristocrat
Son and grandson of Admirals. His folks have mingled with commoners in generations.

60% of Americans saying they identify with McCain's background is what makes me want to puke. It doesn't matter apparently because he was a POW.
John McCain has to be nudged to know gas is sold by the gallon. He doesn't have a clue.
