1. Remember, the pollsters have to call a home and actually get a person to answer.
In this day of age, most are screening or using cell phones only. So, the phone call poll is going to target a certain populace who still answers the phone to take these polls. AND who knows, perhaps they are picking the most Rep. demographics to actually poll in?

2. I don't disbelieve polls simply because I don't like the result.

6. Thank you!
I've often thought that myself. Just because the polls find something we don't like does not make it not true. Look how close the last several elections have been, even down to state and local levels in many cases.

4. I find it difficult to believe, as well
I'd really like to know who they are calling and whether they're legit. When I ponder it, it makes me feel sick to my stomach, because it means either our electorate is really ignorant, or the polls are rigged as are the elections. Scary either way.

15. The electorate is *spectacularly* ignorant.
Look at the percentage of Americans who have fallen for the "Drill here, drill now, pay less" BS. Talk about sailing on a ship of fools!

5. People are afraid of being different
These polls just play on people's desire to be one of the pack. They start planting seeds of doubt, then run this phony polls, and then push people a little more, and the next thing you know the Republicans win again. They did the exact same thing to Kerry. His polls were fine until this precise week in August. They're playing us.

7. I help at Obama headquarters during the day, and have been making phone calls.
Really, the only people that I get on the phone are usually retired. I seldom speak with anyone younger than 50. Are those polls balanced for age-group? Or are they talking to a cross section of older voters?

8. I don't have a land line any more.
Cell only. I don't get called from pollsters.

I think the polls are absolutely skewed, and I also think they are totally fucked up.

No fucking way is McSame as popular as Obama.

13. Pelosi said yesterday that polls are based on people who have voted in the last 2 elections.
No new voters or voters who have not voted in a while, but are energized by Obama (or Bush's lousy performance).
