This is the first time my eyes have strayed from Dean.

I loved the way he would not submit to Chris's attempt to make a laughing stock of him by the 'vast right-wing conspiracy' bait that he dangled. Clark just gave him a look and kept on speaking. He avoided the BS. And dodged the attempt to be dragged into the Dean religion thing. THATS the kind of campaign I want. No mud slung. No BS.

Be afraid Bush. Be very afraid.

For God's sake! When will the media get over it? He got a blow job. He lied about it. He is not running for president this year so shut up and get over it! Let this year's candidates talk about themselves rather than Clinton's penis.

Edited on Mon Jan-05-04 08:13 PM by Cannikin
Saying he always says that we are the hate filled ones, then she kept giving him examples of his Clinton hang-up. Rush kept interupting her, and when she would try to continue, he would say 'See you people dont listen'. But she continued on, telling him to let go of all of this hate he has for Clinton.."Its always Clintons fault with you! Clinton's done this..and that" And when she started to go into how his whole show is set up that way..he got loud and angry and basicaly said some things so completely opposite of how he treats people on his show, that I've considered subsribing to the site just to be able to hear it again and give it to you more accurately! It was great. The last 15 minutes of the show.

Jack Dawson......interesting name. Surely not taken from the lead character in Titanic?

39. Clark did very well
Started a little slow, but then got going quickly. Hammered the Rove-Cheney-Bush Triangle and irresponsible foreign policy. Talked about the campaign strategy a little. Then Tweety had to go after the Clinton angle. Talk about a sideshow, lets rehash the impeachment. Just the same I believe most Americans agree with Clark. He said it was not a high state matter, Clinton could have been censured. Any number of ways to handle it. Then Tweety has to ask again! Just wants to hear Clark say it again.

Basically this will help Clark with democrats, let them see he his a genuine liberal. I thought it was a great performance by Clark.

41. He carved up Cheney and the boy in high style.
Yummy.

Said that Cheney 'put his thumb on the scale' to get Rumsfield as SecDef, then they ganged up on the fortunate son to push neo-conjob. And since the current occupier of the Oval Office has no personal natsec experience or strong beliefs, he was an easy mark for the old men.

As Tweety put it, Cheney has more 'political acumen' than his ward.

I doubt that any reporters will notice that Clark has challenged the integrity of the current Prez/VP intercourse as a threat to our political system. 'Course, I'd love to be proven wrong about the lovely SCLM.

60. Did anyone see the look of Fear in Matthews eyes ...
When Clark mentioned Rove? It looked like he shit himself. These reporter types are in total fear of this Nazi egghead!

66. They dicussed the
"New" polls that show Dean closest to beating Bush......

Fineman almost laugh when asked about it....

The only guy that seemed to think the polls were BS was....I forgot his name...but he was the only actual Democrat on the panel.....Laura Ingram and Fineman were the other two.

was rising in ol tweety, he kept asking Clark to repeat himself, just to hear it again...Then he would ask it a different way, and Clark would pass, and tweety sez "I think you just did!" (say that)

It was a riot.

69. Tweety disputes Clark's point about the impeachment
not when Clark is there, but behind his back, after the interview, with his panel.

The panel, of course, thinks Clark was way off about the impeachment, but then again, they were PART of it.

O'Donnel was way off about Clark supporters not caring about the impeachment. He said Dean and maybe Kucinich are the "Bush is an idiot" candidate. No way! Everyone except for Lieberman are competing for the enormous "Bush is an idiot" vote.

And it's NOT the same as in 2000, as they're saying. Now the dems have PROOF he's an idiot, they have quotes and video and the consequences of his idiocy. Back then it was just speculation.

72. Clark can still get some
Bush is an idiot votes for sure. But then again don't underestimate the number of stupid Americans that don't have a clue whats going on, gone on. There are many many idiots that think chimpy is a hero. That is why Dean will have a hard time getting the final knock out.

75. A nice love-fest thread
Can you imagine us Dean supporters being allowed the same?

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=104&topic_id=804726

Hell no!

Glad you got a taste of rejoicing in your candidate without actually having to have to set up camp elsewhere to avoid flames. I can only imagine, as a Dean supporter, what a luxury that must be.

Of course I suspect after the primaries I won't have to imagine anymore. ;-)

76. Please Spare Us the Self-Pity, Julie
My Ignore list is already a mile long, filled with Dean supporters who do little but post snide comments in Clark threads. That few if any happened to find this thread is mere happenstance.

Oh, and here's a nice Dean celebratory thread for you, posted earlier today:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=132&topic_id=67261

Even the one "marginal" comment is not tearing Dean down, but pointing out that Bush can speak decent Spanish.

Edited on Tue Jan-06-04 06:04 AM by JNelson6563
I should think you of all people might see that this thread is what DU should look like. All the time.

You know, a place where Democrats can come and talk about their politics without suffering attack all the time.

As for your ignore list (nevermind your snide remarks) DTH, do you think that Dean supporters are going to watch Dean be bashed all day long, put up with incredibly self-righteous remarks from the supporters who can't even praise their own candidates without bashing Dean--all in silence?

Hey, whatever, if you all approve of such, perhaps I am in the wrong place. At least until say, mid March or so...

Julie

On edit: DTH, if you want to impress me (not to mention everyone on this board--and I'll bet you do! Here's a thread search for ya, find me a thread where Dean supporters have discussed Dean without plenty of bashing. No, really, try it....just one.

85. the panel was a bit glum later
Tweety replayed the bit about Cheeney and the bit about impeachment. Laura Ingraham expressed astonishment that Clark would want to go down "that" road, bringing up the VRWC. She muttered something about dragging in Molly Ivins, Joe Conason, Gene Lyons, Michael Moore.

Fineman thought that impeachment was a losing issue for Clark. O'Donnell said it resonates with the Dem base.

Ingraham was dour. Fineman was dour. O'Donnell didn't smile or sparkle.

93. Matthews said Clark was running a great campaign!
Is it just me, or does Tweety seem to have a soft spot for the General? Thought Clark did great tonight. I liked how when Tweety was trying to go on and on and on and on about Clinton that Clark kept stating what HIS campaign was about until Tweety gave up.

On a side note....listening to more Hardball. Tweety just criticized the administration, I swear. Am I in bizarro world?
