7. Hmmm...I never made that connection. Although I doubt it's the same
25%. I suspect the 25% that still support Shrub are comprised of fairly wealthy folks who have done very well in the last 8 years, and the RW extremists who for some reason still think Shrub is a good evangelical christian. I find it hard to believe the pollsters would be able to collect that many in a poll.

13. The true working class
Those who work 80+ hours a week to get by, probably would not know of Biden. Yes, there will be those who for whatever reason haven't heard of Biden who are of the class who support Bush, but I personally think that those who support Bush do so out of either extreme self-interest or severe cognitive dissonance.

2. I find POLL THEATER hard to take seriously. They're probably asking
people who wouldn't vote anyway. Or people who only know candidates that their ministers talk about.

3. They are calling MSM educated folks!!
Keep em stupid so "they" can more easily manipulate them.
Sound bite culture, so long as "they" provide the sound bites.
Keep us as dumb or dumber than McSame on economics. Don't want no more Thom Hartmann intellectuals around to question "them".

8. They interviewed someone from Raleigh the other night on local news -
appeared to be in her mid 40s - said she had no idea who Biden was.

Folks, we 120K plus people who cavort on DU probably have absolutely no comprehension of the level of living under rocks of many, many people in this country.

10. Good for you for being in the 120K group, but DON'T include all DUers
in that crowd! Our household income hasn't exceeded $35K for the last 10 years! I've been on DU ever since I heard about it at a Dean meetup back when he was MY candidate of choice! I would think there are LOT of members here in MY catagory rather than yours!

11. To be fair
I was facetious a few posts back, but truthfully there are a lot of people who for whatever reason do not tune in, either because they choose not to, or because they can't. One of Biden's biggest problems back when he was running for President was name recognition. Thankfully given Obama's direct and indirect (MoveOn, etc.) grass roots support, this will hopefully be rectified in short order. For the most part, what people hear of Biden, they like.

The only weakness he will have is his support for the Credit Card/Bankruptcy bill which is something I believe McCain voted for as well - which sort of mutes any counter-argument McCain will have on that point.

14. My mom asked which one was he? She didn't know out of the 3 who he was..
Then she asked me about him.. I told her a brief synopsis. She hadn't even heard who Obama's pick for VP was. She was at work for 12hrs on Sat. and hadn't heard and couldn't picture who he was.. She finally got it when she said after asking if it was the guy who was giving out bagels and coffee to reporters that Good Morning America was showing. To be fair, the woman works 3 jobs, got to love Bush (an educator must take on multiple jobs in order to survive). But what she had heard she liked and thought it was a good choice.. and liked that one of his son's was going to Iraq.. She said he sounded like a statesman.. which is what we need after 8yrs of cowboy antics.. I think it made her feel better about Obama being able to handle this country with such little of his own national politics.

15. I'm surprised 75% say they have heard of him. I would
be willing to bet many of those also have no idea who he is but didn't want to appear ignorant. Americans are clueless when it comes to politicians.

Case in point. A few years ago then Senate Majority leader Tom Daschle took a solo driving tour through his home state of South Dakota during the August recess. A C-span camera followed him. He stopped at a diner off the highway, entered, and proceeded to greet people. It was very evident that no one recognized him or knew who he was, no one except a French tourist who recognized him immediately, called him over, and introduced him to his family saying, "This is Tom Daschle, majority leader of the United States Senate." Daschle then signed autographs for and posed for pictures with the foreign tourists. Meantime the dumbshit Americans just sat there scratching their heads. It was a very revealing moment.

Over the weekend I talked with a few Obama supporters asking me about this Biden guy. They never heard of him.

19. I can totally believe it. I've never investigated anything about Biden until the news was announced
I'm just not that interested in the hoopla associated with Barack's pick... I figure that's his business. Besides, I have my own state to think about.
