Poll question: SO.....which channel will you use to watch the Conventions next week
Edited on Sun Aug-24-08 12:10 PM by LynneSin
I've finally decided on MSNBC because if Keith Olberman is part of it, well it can't be that bad.

1. Will they all be covering from the floor - or only CNN?

3. I am using CSpan because I have no TV and MSNBC doesn't do live video streaming.
Otherwise, I would so totally watch MSNBC-- they're probably the only reason for me to get cable TV.

4. I'll flip around.
Unfortunately I have classes on Tues and Weds night so I'll have to TIVO the festivities. I'll use MSNBC for that. But I do occasionally like to hear what the shills on Faux are babbling about.

I doubt I'll tune into CNN at all. Wolf and Candy are pretentious beyond belief.

I won't miss the Daily Show, that's for sure.

13. I agree, I'll be watching more than one channel.
I will probably watch both MSNBC and CSPAN most of the time. I love MSNBC's coverage and the characters on there, and I love the CSPAN neutrality. I tend to be careful about watching any one channel exclusively, however, because I do think they all slant one way or another even IF they are not doing it by design.

I also will probably try and catch the BBC or CBC coverage because they have a different take on it all that is less US-Centric.

5. C-SPAN
I guess that is included in "Other," but should have a vote of its own. It's far and away the best unless I want a little commentary, then I'll go with MSNBC.

I have no doubt that I will hear about whatever blowheart is saying what on Faux news, but I have no ability nor inclination to watch.

14. I voted for MSNBC because my Replay TV will be recording MSNBC, but
if they pull that crap like they did last time (remember when Chris talked over Sharpton's passionate speech), I will be turning CSPAN on the big screen HD. That way I can go back to the recording if I want to, but can see the convention from my own perspective and no one else's

25. CNN most of the time, some channelsurfing. Can't stand Keith any more. Tweety-dumb to Tweety-dee.
Never thought cable news would have a more reliable and irrational Clinton basher than Tweety, but KO became one.

Well, maybe Dick Morris is worse.

Would really like to see them all put on a desert island together...

I watched them during the primaries. I tried to watch MSNBC on the first night of results but I could only tolerate Chris Matthews for about 3-4 minutes before I had to change the channel. So I just stayed with CNN.

29. CNN for an occasional coverage
I cannot sit in front of TV all day and all night, so I will rely on CNN, that is making extra effort to appear balanced, to offer highlights and, yes, commentaries from both sides of the political spectrum.

MSNBC and Keith Olbermann are the left version of Fox and O'Riley. I don't need either.

30. MSNBC definitely.
Keith, Rachel, and Tweety's improving. Yeah, Pat Buchanan will probably still be whining about Hillary even on Thursday night, and they'll probably have Joey the intern killer on as well, but half a good team is better than an all bad team like CNN or FAUX are guaranteed to have.

I'm always curious how each station covers stuff like this. MSNBC will probably get more attention than the others though.
