8. Oh no, there are some longtime DUers on here that are
Edited on Sat Aug-23-08 08:10 AM by 48percenter
just bitching, moaning and whining non-stop about Joe's MBNA connections, gaffes, etc.

Fuck that noise. Get behind it or get outta the way. We need to win this f'ing election in November. I have no patience for DUers who continually see the glass as half empty.

9. Here ya go
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=6709311&mesg_id=6711855

Read upthread for the context, yes the poster is saying they will not vote for Obama/Biden. (and by extension, therefore the poster prefers a McCain presidency.)

13. Biden can gut
McCain's supposed strength, destroy the GOP veep choice AND present the truly most competent team Veep talent we have for the coming crises. All the other considerations about putting people or places into play or placating or symbolizing pale in consideration of substantial potential to tear the living heart out of the McCain campaign. I can't see how any other choice wouldn't provoke copycat moaning and groaning and leave us with weaker candidates and smaller arguments about advantages. All in all, there was no one at all who commanded any sweeping consideration or clear advantage so Obama went with the best man for the team concept and the needs of the time.

Which coincidentally could be the most powerful challenge to McCain than anyone else at all who could have been chosen. McCain might find himself getting drubbed by the number two guy on his "strong point" while not laying a glove on Obama as we harvest a huge mandate.

21. We didn't want a "Centrist Moderate/DLC" ticket - we wanted a "Change" ticket
This has been put in jeopardy. Biden now has to demonstrate that he is worthy of the Democrats' trust. And that means he has to give on a few issues, starting with credit card laws.

There was only one other candidate with this moniker and she just had too much baggage.

Obama's first major decision was a wise one.

Off to the races!!

19. It's a matter of energy
the difference between real excitement, even joy, at Obama's candidacy, excitement and energy for the work of the campaign, and ho hum, guess I'll go to the polls to vote for the Democrat.

Day by day, the life and energy and excitement drains out of this campaign.
