Joe Biden polls better than any D or R among undecideds

Among the critical “swing” constituency of independent voters, Biden packs the biggest punch for the Democratic ticket (23 percent “much more likely” to vote for Obama), while Romney has the best impact for the Republican ticket (20 percent “much more likely” to vote for McCain).

This makes sense. Undecideds this year are actually older people. Biden is popular with both old people and Catholics.

Check out these numbers from Nate Silver.

Picking Biden definitely puts Florida in play, now. And Biden being Catholic shores up Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota (in case McCain picks Pawlenty) Pennsylvania, and helps a bit in Ohio and New Hampshire as well.

3. NOTE
To see the real numbers, you have to click on the poll PDF. The article only lists the candidates' favorables. Romney has high favorables, but also high unfavorables. Biden is by far the best choice.

9. True dat.
Joe will help with the religious Latinos and the "working class whites" that are religious and, in the Midwest, many are Catholic.

11. Gallup & Rasmussen - two right leaning polls and still ...

That's good but that site is questionable for using just those two polls.

Interesting stuff, though.

12. That can't be ...

After all, several of the Wise Ones of DU were just last night telling us all that Biden brings *nothing* to the campaign ... nothing at all.

They couldn't be wrong.
