Brooks ran an editorial in the NYT pushing Biden as the best choice veep for Obama. Link:

Dionne, Brooks lets slip the anti-Biden strategy: by picking Biden, Obama shows he needs someone with Washington experience since he is inexperienced, and that he needs someone who's been through life experiences because Obama is shallow. Then he goes along with some fantasy of Obama making a decision unpopular with his cabinet but it's ok since his veep's got his back.
So there you have it...the theme will be: Obama needs experienced, grizzled Washington-guy Biden because Obama is weak, gutless, lacks character, and is still wet behind the ears. Remember how Bush picking Cheney was a sign of reassurance and strength? Yeah, me too. Don't forget: Republican choices good, Democratic choices bad.
