Rush just said Obama said 10,000 people died in a tornado in KS this spring
I am at work blogging from my phone. Went up to the store and heard Rush on the radio.

Can someone send this to Fight The Smears?

Thanks!

1. No, Obama meant to say "ten" last year, and said ten thousand by mistake.

I don't think the town even had 10,000 people--just a verbal slip up. (Can't remember the town--was it Greenwood? in 2007--I remember when he goofed, it was an obvious slip of the tongue and he corrected it soon after).

2. It probably was where he was riffing on when Obama misspoke
about the tornadoes before.

Otherwise, if he was reporting it, then he's made a bigger gaffe than Obama did ...

3. I heard that. I haven't heard Limbaugh in years. Damn, does he sound scared!
I tuned in on the way to work, figuring I'd hear "the announcement" on his show if it happened. he was claiming Obama was stupid and a liar (usual stuff). He played clips of Obama yesterday saying China's recent infrastructure improvements made them more attractive to business, and he twisted that as Obama saying that "Communist" China was superior to the US. Then he came up with a series of other "stupid" comments Obama had made, including the 10,000 deaths and the "57" states.

The part that had my laughing so hard I could barely drive was Limbaugh trying to convince listeners how bad China was. "They have no regulations on pollution, so the skies are polluted. They have no building regulations, so the buildings are collapsing. Their citizens can't get enough to eat and live in poverty..." OBAMA TURNED HIM INTO A LIBERAL!!!!

7. That would explain
why my old college buddy who has gone to the dark side sent me an e-mail today saying Obama was an "idiot without his teleprompter". Polly wanna cracker?

12. They don't call 'em dittoheads for nothing
I have a relative like that. She knows NOTHING about politics, so every time she rattles off a one-liner like that, I ask my husband, who can stomach the right-wing-wacko shows, where she got it--Limbaugh, Hannity, or our local Limbaugh wannabe. The minute I repeat what she said, he can trace it back to the source instantly.

6. I'm so glad that I do not care what Rush Limbaugh says.......
It really is a wonderful world, when one takes those kinds of folks out of it.

8. New rw meme is to attack a couple of Obama gaffes, portray them as equal to McCain or worse.
You'll here that one and Obama referring to 57 states he visited.

Of course McCain has DOZENS of verbal gaffes so far so in the words of their hero to rwers I say BRING IT ON!

9. and what percentage of rush's audience do you think would remotely consider voting for Obama
He preaches to his own choir. "Fighting" his smears only gives them a wider audience. Treat Rush like someone you don't like here at DU -- ignore.
