Rather, it’s the combination of his and Cindy’s extreme wealth AND his being so out of touch with the average American that he says the economy is doing well and that the Bush tax cuts for the rich should stay.
Contrast this with John Kerry, who also married into wealth and yet kept asserting during his 2004 campaign his desire to lower taxes for the middle class, to stand up for the average American and give them the breaks that had gone instead to the richest segment of the population for the first 4 years of *.

Republican talking heads are trying to spin this as an "attack on Cindy" or "class-warfare".

It isn't that -- as you say, it is an attack on McCain's clueless stance that the economy is doing pretty well.

He has so many houses he can't remember how many he has. Most Americans know how many houses they have. Most Americans realize the economy is not doing well.
