Because didn't McBush actually make an offer and many, many people attempted to get him to pay up on his offer. But of course he kept hopping from house to house and couldn't be found to pay up.

McCain's message was that even if he offered American workers $50 an hour to pick lettuce, we wouldn't do it.

In his defense, he sounds like he's defending his immigration policy. Unfortunately, this even changes any of McCain's leniency concerning immigration.

Apparently, McCain is looking for some cheap labor, and US workers are too damn spoiled on our bloated incomes and lazy lifestyles to fit the needs of his exploitive, fat-cat "amigos" in the agricultral industry.

Even the title: "McCain: American will not pick lettuce for $50.00 an hour" will get a lot more attention and a lot more views.
