Tinfoil Hat Time: McCain Camp (or RNC) behind "Powder" Mail to get House Story out of News
Edited on Thu Aug-21-08 09:41 PM by Ioo
I am sorry, but this smells of KKKarl if ever something did.

The "McCain is the richest man on the hill" story is getting real traction. The 8 Homes McCain is all over the news, and all of the sudden the DENVER OFFICE (home of the DNC next week) and the NH office get letters full of powder. Hmmm

This smells like a scam to get the house story off the news....

KKKarl is at it again TERROR TERROR TERROR!!!

Nothing will come of it, it will turn out to be talk or something..

Just thinking out loud...

2. Yeah, but the "white powder scare" has been soooo overdone
that it'll only show up on page B18 of the local paper.

5. I read somewhere...
the letter was from a dude in jail....

http://www.forbes.com/feeds/ap/2008/08/21/ap5348157.html

"Andy Lyon of Parker South Metro Fire Rescue Authority said the return address on the envelope listed the Arapahoe Detention Center and the name of an inmate. He didn't release the name."

6. " Authorities said that was a false alarm and there was no powder in that envelope."
So they hatched the plan, and found a scapegoat. Some nut sends a letter, and they MAKE UP the powder part of the story.

14. I know. McCain is close enough in the polls that they can look at him more closely
now....

If he accidentally pulls ahead, they'll hammer him till the two of them are even,again....

They MUST have their horse race....

8. Rove's cutthroat campaigning.
Like bugging own office and blaming Dems. Stolen letterhead from local Dem office; letters sent for a fictitious party; guests arrive to nothing.

"The whole art of war consists in a well-reasoned and extremely circumspect defensive, followed by rapid and audacious attack."

9. That Probably Is The Case, Sir
Here in Chicago we have occasionally had candidates for alderman who had shots fired through their own office windows to further some posturing as reformers or scourges of crime....

13. don't be surprised if dude in jail gets early parole
courtesy of kkkkkkkkkkahrl.

this is so old as to be predictable. get "investigations" into the news to alter the discussions -- skew them his way.

sorry, karl, how many houses do YOU have?

15. I immediately thought they were behind it.
I didn't connect it to the house story though - I figured this would somehow tie into a "terrorism" scare, since the military is McCain's only supposed strength. But, you're right, it could be an attempt to take away from the house story. It's not going to work though.

16. Karl Rove has been using that false flag trick in campaigns for decades
He once bugged his own office in Texas, when he was a state candidate's campaign guy, then called a press conference to say he'd found a bug in his office. He has long used such incidents.
