Obama says he's decided on a running mate
Source: Yahoo News

CHICAGO - Barack Obama says he's decided on a running mate, but he won't say who. The Democratic presidential candidate told USA Today on Thursday that he went with someone who is independent and would challenge him in the White House. He also said he wanted someone who is prepared to be president and would help him strengthen the economy.

He wouldn't say whether he's informed his pick yet. He says he won't reveal anything else about the decision until he announces it.

Obama is planning to do so in a text message to supporters sometime before Saturday afternoon, when he's scheduled to appear with his pick in Illinois. Asked by an Associated Press reporter when the text would be sent, Obama just grinned and said, "Wouldn't you like to know?"

19. Maybe but at this point I kinda doubt it if
he does intend to do a Zell Miller impersonation by speaking at the convention for the GOP, if he does that he might as well just put a gun to his head and pull the trigger because the democrats will I suspect justifiably retaliate by pouring money into the state to remove him come the next election plus they will probably give him some minor committee spots only that don't matter.

3. It's Democratic Underground!
Obama's running mate is widely rumored to be the collective entity known as Democratic Underground, or DU to its many friends and numerous enemies. Analysts call the choice a bold and unprecedented step that is sure to attract much attention.

If elected, the new vice president is unlikely to accomplish much while in office, although internal debate on every policy option, duty, action, etc. is expected to be protracted and vigorous.

6. hehe! Everyone can now explain how their favorite pick fits his description!

I am starting to really admire his ability to string along an audience. Poor McCain is jumping up and down, screaming, waving flaming banners, and spending a ton of cash on commercials just to get people's attention, and Obama does it better with two words in a text, or a vague answer.

7. I suppose if you were to look under the bus
you'd find Wes Clark. Independent through all his years in the military, degree in economics from Oxford and taught econ at West Point. And a Democrat who has the cajones to challenge McCain.......oops, look out, here comes the bus.

22. Really? Because someone is not picked, then they are thrown under the bus?
There can only be 1 running mate, so does that mean all the others who were qualified, but not picked were thrown under the bus?

27. It's either Biden or Clark.
And since it ain't Clark, it's Biden.

Or maybe Bayh... hope not.

It's Biden. Definitely. Probably. It could be Clark. But it's Biden.

Or Bayh.
