2. IMO
If they do it in the morning it floats as the message of the day all day. I don't think they'd do it in the afternoon, at least I hope not that would kind of blunt the effect.

I really expected him to do it today but I've been wrong about this all the way so far.

3. Puts it front and center for the Sunday morning political talk show coverage.
And that's ALL they'll talk about, if so.

5. Don't question the campaign
They know what they're doing.

Didn't you get the memo?

(the foregoing was sarcasm in the extreme, just in case someone left their sense of humor and irony at the door)

6. Ideally i prefer him announce at the convention...
but i just dont see the point in releasing it any time this week and if he must i would go Friday news dump or on the weekend...draw this thing out and control the news cycle.

The less time the repubs have to know about the vp the less time they have to smear him before the convention. And let me stress HIM as the VP..Hilalry aint gonna happen.

MTP, Face the Nation, etc.

11. Someone from The Nation was on Rachel Maddow. Says it allows them to get all the coverage on the
Sunday shows. And not a bunch of analysis during the week. Just the wow factor

12. Not a typical Friday, when the Convention starts on Sunday.
It's actually a smart way to generate anticipation days in advance.

15. Absolute genius, in my humble opinion.

Rove and the right wing shit for brains can't spin the VP choice now. Because next week is our convention, and the week after is theirs. And by then, both tickets will be old news, and it will be on to a two month GE mudslinging fest.

But the Democratic ticket WILL be subject #1 on the Sunday mediawhore talk shows, and the lead off for talk radio on Monday morning.

In addition to cutting off Rovian spin, it's a message from Obama to the whore media. Essentially: "Fuck You, I'll decide my own timetable!"

18. Probably to avoid the stupid as dirt commentary that the MSM has subjected us to.
I'm thinking that the VP was nowhere near what the MSM has foisted on us for the past week or so and it's convinced the Obama camp that the pundits of the MSM are all fools who don't deserve the respect the news used to get.
