Similar to how Republicans tried to beat Al Gore up on the Internet thing, and how they mocked Kerry with purple bandaids?

I think there's some potential there... what are some good visual aids for this?

Lots of good banner ideas, I would think.

This can be a very good, and fun, tool to beat McCain over the head with and switch around the "elitism" charge.

1. McCain House Keyrings.
Keychains that our convention attendees can wear around their necks, clearly labeled so that the TV cameras can catch them easily, much like the purple band-aids used 4 years ago by the GOP.

It'd be hysterical, and effective. That's my pitch. :)

2. It needs to become the "invented the Internet" of the 2008 election.
Of course, Al never said it and actually was instrumental in the creation of the Internet but that isn't the point.

The houses along with the $5 million is middle class should be repeated ad nauseum to get into the psyche of the American public.

4. McCain's "Let them eat cake!"
It's obvious from that quote that she keeps him away from the money and he's a "kept" man. OK, by me, but it doesn't jibe with his macho, he-man style that the GOP base really love.

5. You know what would be funny?
A video combining footage from the press corps dinner of Bush looking for WMDs but make it look like he's trying to help McCain find his homes.

18. If they can't find WMDs or their own homes, how can we expect them to find solutions?
The solutions American needs for a strong future. I mean, if they can't find tangible items, how can we expect them to find abstract solutions?

6. I believe the Dems are planning on using it and Tim Kaine used it this morning on CNN.
Democrats Plan Major Offensive on McCain Home Number Ignorance

Thursday, August 21st, 2008

The party intends to hammer the Arizonan for a comment he made to Politico suggesting he’s unsure how many houses he and his wife own.

“I think - I’ll have my staff get to you. It’s condominiums where - I’ll have them get to you.”

Dems have tried recently to step up their effort to caricature McCain as living an outlandishly rich lifestyle.

Morning Show Summary

Thursday, August 21st, 2008

Gov. Kaine on CNN’s “American Morning” went after McCain on economics, linking him to Bush and saying he cares most about the wealthy and big business.

Cited Politico story in which McCain could not say how many homes he owns. “He couldn’t count high enough, apparently…” Click above to watch.

7. Utilize the Monopoly game somehow
Make fans out of the real estate cards to waive. Key chains with the little green houses dangling from it. Get some guy to dress up like the Monopoly guy...he can have his own booth to help delegates determine how many homes they own because it's tough to remember. Throw Monopoly cash around.

11. I like!
They need to do something playful that'll make for a fun photo-op, something that will catch attention.

If there's one weapon that Obama's campaign hasn't been using to its full potential, it's HUMOR. This is a prime opportunity!

20. true dat
They really ought to use more humor. It'd be an appealing and memorable way to deal with this. I don't think most Americans need to be told that four or seven or ten houses plus a $1 million parking lot puts McCain in a different category from the rest of us--all that needs to be got out is the fact that he has this kind of lifestyle, and voters will take it from there. But doing it in a funny way will turn that whole "elitist" thing completely upside down.

... for a "not-so-swiftboat" video.

Really there's so much potential material related to this guy, one doesn't know where to start.

But I like the Keychain idea.

12. A tie-in to the McInsane psychotic reaction to keys jangling is so obvious. Every delegate should
get a LARGE keyring with very loud, metal keys on it. At every mention of his name, they jangle them.

This gets the point across and puts that sound into the broadcasts.

A win-win.

Now, if only we could get the pukes to jangle keys at Hanoi John.

17. Another winner!
This thread is proof: it didn't take very long for us to come-up with some really clever ways to hit McCain with this very basic issue.

DNC: there's no excuse. Get to it! :D

21. and don't discount his snarly and bumbling answer "I'll have my
staff get to you on that". To me, the remark was worse than the fact that he didn't even know. Not even close enough to guess.
