3. Richmond could mean Biden or Kaine...
... or WWE's Mickie James! She lives there and she could sure as hell kick Romney's ass in a debate.

So long as the debate involved metal folding chairs. Does anyone know if she's 35 yet?

5. I asked for his plans in another thread --
and based on what I learned, I was able to tell people WHEN the announcement would come after I had it all figured out. Haven't gotten all the info I need yet.

So at this point, I'm guessing Thursday ( only because people say Friday is a bad news day) and in the afternoon, EDT.

9. I'll have to look for that - did it involve an elaborate rollout?
I remember something somewhere (how's that for vague) about it being rather involved, not just

Hi
Clark
thxbai

or

Hi
Biden
thxbai

and done for the day :)

10. That's right -
he could sandwich it in between events! Kind of toss it off on the fly. Cool!

2. after the election.
he's having a hard time deciding and he'll probably wait until december. in fact, it's possible he'll wait until after inauguration. why rush an important decision like this?

8. If he waits that long...
it will certainly seem more presidential.

17. or he can just make a quick decision now.....
...and then change his mind after inauguration and swap the temporary vp for a better one.

18. Oooh, a placeholder. I like that idea. Why isn't that one in the Constitution?
Kinda like McKinley did with Teddy Rooselvet in 1900. You can always shuffle the arm candy off when he served his purposes.

4. I wish it would be sooner but the MSM has signed up for the txt too.
So the Obama campaign will probably texting us with the news as close as to the actual appearance with the VP as possible.

11. I here that... but I think it's anticipated enough that it would actually dominate the weekend.
And still leave room for fresh chatter on Sunday as the 'heads dissect the implications of the choice.

12. Friday would be great -- because then they'd get all the additional coverage
on Saturday when they made their maiden voyage! It would dominate the weekend!

16. Less time for McCain to know? That's silly
We're talking about a day or two difference between now and November. I like the suspense angle, it's a good way to generate heat for the roll out.

20. I love how one option is marked "this is the correct answer"...
And yet only 2 people choose it. There's something very American about that. ;)

21. I truly believe that it will come either today or saturday. Not friday
If I were running the Obama campaign, I would want the VP announcement to consume the news cycle. You release it today, and it consumes tonight and tommorows evening broadcasts. I really don't see the point in announcing it Friday, when nobody will be watching the news anyways. Saturday I can see, because then you get coverage for all the sunday talkshows.
