Biden Can Plug the Hole Where Obama is Clueless
The key midwestern states have something in common--they are all "aging" states--they have lost a lot of young people. Obama is running a "youth" campaign depending on the younger voters to turn out (kinda like hoping the gernade you're playing with doesn't blow up). It's the older voters who DO vote and Obama has been absolutely clueless how to reach them, so far. Enter Biden, stage left....

It's not his age. It's that those voters have seen enough crisis that they are reluctant on the "security front". If you gave them Kaine, for example, they would run away from Obama fast because there is no way they would hand the government over to two rookies. Biden would ease those fears and take it off the table, leaving room for Obama to hit with the economic message.

Oh, and just read a piece by Fineman who now insists after talking to two insiders and two who were on Obama's original list, that it IS Biden. Says Obama now wants a beltway guy to disarm McCain and Bahy's (sp.?) wife's business deals would come under examination, etc.

1. Please don't post anything about Biden plugging anyone's hole.
Gross.
Biden is too slick for Midwestern voters. He doesn't come off as a sincere or authentic person. He doesn't help there and its the region where Obama did best during the primary. If Obama wants a candidate to help in the Midwest then there are several good Midwestern candidates to choose from.

9. I am not thrilled with any of the names mentioned
I dont think Biden will help at all. Webb would have been a great choice. He would be a tough bare knuckles fighter.

12. Obama opposed the Iraq war from the start while Biden voted for it.
I think I know who has a clue and who didn't.

11. I resent you using the word "plug" when talking about Biden.
Those aren't plugs. He just happens to have pixelated pattern baldness.

18. Off-topic, but I love your sig pic.
I don't know how I missed the obvious comparison of McCain and Cotton. McCain has a similar foul attitude and the same willingness to leave his wife for a much younger bimbette. Very accurate comparison.

14. What on earth does Biden have to do
with security? He voted for the Iraq war, which has hardly made us more secure. If that's your issue, Clark is your man.

17. Wake Up - the "kids" aren't going to put him over the line
First, I spent the first 45 years of my life in the Midwest and they DO know Biden out there--for christ's sake we did have teeeveeee. He's a national figure and has been for years. Second, Bloomberg News reported several weeks ago that both camps agree that this election will be won or lost by women 54 and older. There has been litte done to address this age group from the Obama campaign. Web videos are lost on older people. This is where McCain is making gains on Obama. If they feel secure by someone with foreign policy experience or just "age" they will listen to Obama's economic message. Right now all they see is Johnny's prisoner of war stories.
