somebody that nobody has even mentioned? Somebody that will totally blow all of the pundits and talking heads completely out of their comfy chairs?

But, I'm 100% with him now and will be whoever he picks.

15. Same here!
Talk about injecting some energy into the campaign. Plus, it would be nice to get the over 50 vote, the hispanic vote, the female vote, and the blue collar vote.
She got nearly as many votes in the primary as Obama, imho it could only help. :)
(P.S. I supported Obama in the primary)

39. Hold on...she might help but Obama is already kicking
McCain's fanny in the Hispanic vote, the female vote, and the blue collar vote.
They didn't hate Obama, they just preferred Clinton to Obama and now they prefer Obama to McCain.
I'm not sure how much of over 50 vote she'd bring. I suspect it was older people who voted for Hillary but in exit polls said if it was between Clinton and McCain they'd vote for McCain. Remember those? In some states those who said they'd pick McCain over Clinton were more Clinton voters than Obama. (Almost everyone who voted Obama said they'd pick Obama over McCain. Just Clinton voters said they'd pick McCain over Obama)
I always wondered who those people were so it is just my guess that they were older folks who preferred Hillary to Obama but planned to vote McCain.

I'm not sure Clinton would gain him more Dem votes than the Independent votes it would lose him. Maybe. So maybe Bill sounded so angry about him because he felt insulted that his finances had to be vetted. I know that was one of the big problems with the likelihood of her being VP. I think she'd be better than most of the choices we here about...although I wish she had a lot more experience. (Funny that the 3 least experienced candidates were the only viable ones in our party!)

That's just what we need. Two candidates that the average Freeper can't spell the names of. If they can't spell it, they can't criticize them. Right?

I want it because Obama has been so "same old, same old" lately. Only drastic change can heal this country, and I don't see it much of it anywhere. Joe Biden? Chris Dodd? I hope not.
But I won't hold my breath though...

19. Absolutely. Schweitzer would be the best possible choice.
He's not an insider, he's smart, he has a real energy policy, he has foreign experience in the Middle East, and he appeals to rural America.

I'm convinced that voters want change and honesty more than they want some ambiguous "experience". If that's the case, Schwetizer is the man.

37. I'm still surprised he hasn't been mentioned more prominently
His primary negatives are his low profile and the fact that he comes from what would ordinarily not be considered a battleground state (Montana). However, he wouldn't take long to get noticed because he's great on TV--he's funny, uses self deprecating home spun humor, and he has that special knack for being able to explain complex ideas using easy to understand language (think the anti-Kerry). He would be perfect to send to Iowa, Ohio, West Virginia, Montana, Colorado, New Mexico--anywhere there are rural, independent voters, blue collar workers, ranchers, farmers, etc. Few give him credit because he's so unknown, but he'd be a powerful choice and in my view would really help Obama win the election.

Obama's theme should be "Americans are less interested in experience than they are in competence and someone who understands and fights for their concerns."

26. Yes
I find the three main candidates, Bayh, Kaine, and Biden fairly boring. I like Biden but I just don't think he would be the best choice. Hillary is the only option that adds any sort of excitement to the VP (at least to me). I don't think Hillary will be selected so I'm hoping for a shocking pick, someone that hasn't been talked about much. Or at least maybe someone that isn't in that list of three, like Wes Clark or Kathleen Sebelius. But who knows, I've changed my mind on who should be VP several times so I'm just going to trust Obama's pick. I just hope he pick today or tomorrow morning so we can end the debate about who should be VP.

I'm not in a tizzy like many around here about who he chooses and when because I know I'm going to support him no matter what and I believe whoever he picks IS the best choice for him. So I haven't been as hyped about this issue, but some part of me would LOVE for him to pick someone totally off the radar screen.

Caroline Kennedy

Oprah

Ludacris

Ok maybe that's too far... but still... I want some heads exploding!

In reality I know he'll go with the safe choice. Which is probably the right choice. Good thing I'm not in charge.
