For those planning to flameout after Obama picks his VP...
If that pick doesn't happen to be *your* top choice.

Please reconsider.

We lost another member today and it's getting frankly sad. There's too much at stake let personal preferences/grudges overwhelm commitment to party and country.

Hoping that we all maintain focus and positive attitudes over the next couple of days.

Best,
Kristi1696

That can be good I suppose.

The good judgment to make the best of a golden opportunity? A lucky break. A shift in the wind?

Look -let's not rehash old nonsense. That was then ...this is now. We need Obama and WHOMEVER he picks to win in November.

Now THAT is good judgment.

I am in with Obama and a dead donkey.
And whoever it is I will be disappointed in some aspect and will no doubt comment on it. But Dems in November. Across the board. Let's get a little of this change on the road.

you can bet that sitting at home doesnt cancel out a republican vote. Its net effect is to give McCain a one vote advantage. That's why voting is good and not voting is bad. switching a vote from a dem ticket to McCain is like adding two votes.

43. Very short sighted pov
There is VERY little to support the notion that Obama would not have voted for the way had he been in the senate at the time. Other good people did. Those with an eye on their future in politics did. Those with a finger in the wind did. He was lucky in that he did not have to take that particular test.

Whoever he picks will disappoint some. We are going to have to grow up a bit and get him elected whatever "mistake" (or inspired choice) he makes. It's not about you this election. Not just about you. You do not live in a universe of one.

79. No good people did.
By voting for war and sending people off to die they relinquished their right to be called "good people".

There are some things you compromise on... things you can take back. Things that if they fail you can undo before they do too much damage.

WAR is not one of those things. This one has killed/wounded MILLIONS of people.

14. Well, personally ...

If someone is gonna flame-out over a VP pick, they need a vacation ... a long one ... someplace else.

I don't really even know who the top guesses are, and I really don't care.

Nor should anyone else, unless he goes all psycho and asks someone like Gen. Stockdale to be his VP, but he won't do that.

People need to chill, but if they don't, they might really just need that break that's coming to them.

41. How about I flame out if his dis of Wes Clark as publicized by
Huffington Post turns out to be true?

I don't necessarily expect Clark to be the VP choice, but to disown him during the convention? That shows the greatest lack of character and judgment of any campaign I've ever seen.

58. I hope it's not true
A role for WC in the new admin would be good.
So what if he's not the very best politician. Sometimes telling the truth has to happen.

47. The suspense is KILLING me...
Whomever it is will certainly be in for some SERIOUS vetting over here...

...and I'm sure there will be a few people lining up for "the Bone Orchard," as my Grandpa used to call it.

82. I Think Whoever Bitches The Most Is A Freeper
It the one line posts with no analysis that rip on a VP candidate without any explanation that are most apparent. Likewise, the ones that predict defeat or suddenly announce that they are not going to vote, or worse, will vote for McCain due to Obama's VP choice that reveal themselves as Freepers.

86. Sigh and move on
is the thing to do in my opinion.
I may be disappointed, but it's not my decision.
I think I may be more invested that I have ever been.
I guess I feel like I was burned by the last two choices.
Clearly Lieberman was an unfortunate choice, but I think understandable.
Only recently revealed what kind of mess the last might have gotten us into given his character flaws.

So, it is Obama's decision, and it appears that the decision making and vetting process is thorough.
I have my hopes and opinions and I may be disappointed or happy, just like a lot of people who have their thoughts about it.
No sense in assuming that I have been betrayed or taking on a defeatist attitude.
We have to win.
I will wear the Obama\whoever shirt proudly.
