Re "President Urges Outside Groups to Halt All Ads" (front page, Aug. 24):

Now that whatever damage that may have been done to John Kerry's campaign by the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth has been done, President Bush is playing the good guy by calling for an end to all the attack ads. How transparent.

1. What I find ironic is how the media is constantly bringing up the 527's
have spent 68 million attacking Bush but leave out the fact that the Bush campaign has spent 120 million (?) attacking Kerry! When you compare 527's, yes, more money has been spent attacking Bush. When you look at attack ads, Bush has far outspent Kerry and 527's! I think that is worthy of making the news.
