KABOOOM! Andrew Sullivan Figures Out the Plagiarism of CROSSGATE! WOOHOO!
Edited on Mon Aug-18-08 01:39 PM by berni_mccoy
http://andrewsullivan.theatlantic.com/the_daily_dish/2008/08/the-dirt-in-the.html

This part of his analysis is the KEY:

One more thing: McCain's various stories only talk of one guard - "the only real human being that I ever met over there". And yet the guard who loosened his ropes in May 1969 could not have been present the following Christmas, as McCain had been transferred to another location (unless the transfer occurred between Christmas and New Year of 1969 and unless the guard was transferred to exactly the same camp at the same time) <unlikely>.

Read the whole article. He does a literary analysis.

The MSM is going to be forced into picking this up.

19. And if Obama had been in the senate
the chances are he would have too.

There is very little in his senate record to suggest he would have stood out from the crowd. So few, so very few did. And pretty much no-one who had an eye on the future.

So what?

Move on.

We have a great candidate and soon to be official nominee. Work hard and enjoy.

was not a "real human being."

McCain is SUCH a damned phony!

say a word because he was a POW.

10. The MSM is fast becoming more and more irrelevant, imo...
the internet, blogs, YouTube are the present day versions of the pamphlets that used to be circulated to get the truth out. Screw the MSM, get the question out there.

27. Republicans really lack imagination
They latch on to one theme and then beat it to death. But then, look at the people they cater to.

16. Yet they repeated the swiftboat lies for months in 2004...
...without verifying their claims.

And the MSM offered no negative commentary when the GOP convention featured delagates wearing purple heart bandaids to mock Kerry.

It's funny how there is always open season on the military records of Dems, but the service records of Repukes are somehow sacred.

29. I thought the NYT was considered part of the MSM?
The blogosphere is also lighting up with questions about the story Mr. McCain told at the forum — and many times previously — about a moment when a guard in his prison camp in Hanoi etched a cross in the dirt in front of him on a Christmas day. Mr. McCain related the story movingly at the forum, almost choking up, and added a line that he had not used before publicly: “For a minute there, there was just two Christians, worshiping together.

But some in the blogosphere are noting that this scene is strikingly similar to one painted by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, writing about his days in the gulag, and are questioning whether it actually happened to Mr. McCain. Mark Nicholas, a Democrat from Montana, has this. And over at the liberal DailyKos, they are noting that conservatives at Free Republic first raised doubts about the story in 2005. McCain campaign’s Michael Goldfarb posts a response to the questions.

Notice a McCain campaign person felt the need to respond, legs anyone?

30. Nope- not really. Neither is MSNBC- both are looked at as "liberal media"
by the corporate mainstream media. We need this story to make it to USA Today, a major network 6pm news report (NBC, CBS, ABC), CNN and FOX (ok- I know I'm dreaming) and then maybe America will wake up and see the lies of McShame.
