Preemptive strike--SBV crap.

I just heard Gillespie say something about Kerry needing to rein in some of the people speaking on his behalf about service since these people were denigrating service in the National Guard. Well, I believe that the SBV attack on Kerry was as pedestrian as trying to preempt any indepth poking around about *'s whereabouts in the 60's. They made a big media splash using a lie. Doesn't matter that its a lie because they've been allowed to get by for 4+ years telling huge whoppers, which no one calls them on so they've been emboldened by this. Creating this media circus atmospher around Kerry's service now allows *'s baggage to be treated as oldnewsthatsbeenaroundforever sowhatsthebigwhoop. The vehicle they used just happened to be the one financial asset that Dems have going for them in the absence of a large number of big donors--the 527 ads. So there's a double whammy to this because the Rs have used it as a vehicle to attempt to drain political assets/resources for a campaign that has been successfully tanking *'s efforts (not a good word, but whatever he's doing defies labelling).

I think it is just as simple as that. They need to get rid of additional Dem resources and have been whining for sometime now about huge amounts of money the Dems have, even though the Rs have huge amounts of hard money.

the only one who denigrated the Guard was Shrub when Dad manipulated things to get him in and then Shrub went AWOL.
