2. Didn't he go over to the Greens or the Libertarians?

Though, given that we have Republicans speaking at the convention and apparently helping with the platform I don't see why we can't have someone from a third party speak and/or be nominated.

At the very least, Kucinich should be speaking it would be nice to hear from the Democratic wing of the party.
