Got an Obama e-mail asking for money and replied. They don't read replies

It sounds to me like you have some pretty high expectations, and the "oh well! their loss!" comment confuses me.

If you haven't already, you might try joining your local Obama campaign or develop an online presence with the campaign.

Or maybe your support is conditional on their answering your emails personally?

ALL emails like that are sent out by bots. NONE of them are capable of answering replies. Most will not do anything and you'll get a "mailer daemon" error from your ISP.

The fact that they redirected you to a site that actually allows you to send a reply means that they actually CARE about your feedback.

This is common, because it's not an actual person sending out every single e-mail, rather a mass e-mail sent out to everyone in their database.

You don't actually expect a person to send out 2 million e-mails in a matter of minutes, do you?

14. I think you missunderstood the purpose of those emails.

They are not being sent out because they want your replies... there are plenty of other ways to communicate with the Obama campaigns. Mass emails are sent out by bots. One person writes them, and then a bot sends them. Therefore they CAN'T recieve your reply.

I don't understand why you would pend your support on the due to that.

The e-mail system they use to send out mass e-mails isn't really set up to facilitate individual replies. I used to work at EMILY's List on the web team, and we would read the replies but we weren't really set up to reply to them, since everything we sent out had to go through an extensive review process.
